Our nursery propagation intern, Bella, writes about the day-to-day tasks she carries out as part of her work. Today she explains about how she treats low iron levels.
"This morning, I gave some plants a seasonal iron boost.

In summer, fertilization can be necessary when pale leaves and green veins are seen in the leaf, like on the Thunbergia here.
For some reason the pH in the water is too basic at this time of the year, more than the usual.
As a result of that, the absorption level of the Iron in the plant is low. Of course, to carry out this procedure, I had to wear a full protection suit. I think it looked pretty good on me!"
